Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is happy with Paul Pogba's progress.

The United manager contends he has no plans to sign a midfielder in this transfer window because he has sufficient options and Pogba, dubbed the new Patrick Vieira, clearly figures in his plans.

Ferguson said: “Patrick was a great player and Pogba is only 18.

"But he’s a big, physical lad, he’s 6ft 2ins, athletic, got good control and could be a surprise for us.”
