Man Utd boss Ferguson thrilled with Tevez impact

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admits he couldn't be happier with the impact made by Carlos Tevez this season.

The Argentina striker has scored 10 times since joining from West Ham in August and boss Ferguson said: "We're delighted with Tevez, so I think I'd have to plump for him (as my player of the season so far).

"He's been excellent and he's scored a lot of goals. He has a fantastic appetite for his football and has really endeared himself to the players and fans. They know they've got someone who will try his heart out.

"For someone his age to come over here and show that sort of appetite for the game, it's been great to see."

Tevez's strike partner Wayne Rooney echoed his manager's praise.

"Carlos is a great player and has done really well since he joined the club," said Rooney. "We're working well together and I think our partnership proves all good players can play together, no matter how similar they are."
