Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has told Wesley Sneijder: We don't need you.

United fans have been expecting to see the Inter star move to Old Trafford for weeks.

But asked if they should forget signing £35million-rated Sneijder, United boss Fergie said: "You can forget anyone you like, I'm happy with the youngsters I've got here."

Ferguson is backing young guns like Tom Cleverley, Anderson and French kid Paul Pogba, 18, to thrive for the champions this season.

He added: "When you take the roll call of players, I'm certainly not looking to add to that."
