Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is serious about signing Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli.
Milan-based Mediaset says Ferguson has already spoken with his former United No2 Carlos Queiroz about Balotelli and his similarities to Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ferguson is willing to pay £25 million cash for Balotelli, a figure Inter president Massimo Moratti is now willing to accept.
There was talk of including Patrice Evra in the offer, but neither club are keen to see that option on the table. Instead, Inter will accept a straight cash deal and use the funds to sign a direct replacement for Balotelli.
Inter insiders expect a final decision to be made before July 25.
