Man Utd boss Ferguson tells Hull, Stoke to forget his youngsters

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is set to let down a host of Premiership rivals interested in his young players.

Ferguson has dashed the hopes of Hull, Stoke and West Brom as well as Championship side Birmingham - by turning down offers for the youngsters It's thought Hull boss Phil Brown was keen to take striker Danny Welbeck, having had Fraizer Campbell on loan from Old Trafford last season.

West Brom are understood to have been keen to take Brazilian midfielder Rodrigo Possebon while Stoke and Birmingham like the look of midfield star Darron Gibson.

But Ferguson said last night: "I have had lots of calls but no one is going out on loan in January.

"The players that are attracting interest for loan moves are Welbeck, Gibson and Possebon but there's no chance of them going anywhere.

"I'd be silly to let them go with our programme and it would be Sod's Law that you would loan them out and then get a couple of injuries. I have Campbell at Spurs for the season and I can't get him back."
