Man Utd boss Ferguson sets wage ceiling for Sneijder to accept terms

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has set a wage ceiling for Wesley Sneijder's signing.

The People says Ferguson is keen to land the £35million-rated Inter Milan star, but negotiations are going nowhere after the Dutchman's personal demands stopped United in their tracks.

Ferguson won't rekindle talks with Sneijder and his camp until the whole package becomes more manageable.

His stance amounts to a final ultimatum for a player United regard as a straight replacement for retired Paul Scholes.

Ferguson refuses to be held to ransom and is reluctant to pay the Italian club more than a £30m transfer fee.

He rates Sneijder as the best in his position, but has set a £175,000-a-week wage ceiling for the attacking midfielder.
