Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants to bring Lyon ace Karim Benzema to Old Trafford this summer.
Benzema has stated he wants to stay at Lyon next season before quitting after the 2010 World Cup.
But the Mirror says Ferguson sees Benzema as a replacement for want-away Carlos Tevez and is ready to sell to fund a £30 million bid for the Frenchman.
