Manchester United are set to bid for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.Sky Sports says United have yet to make an official bid for the player, who made his England debut against Sweden in November, but it is understood Sir Alex Ferguson has been monitoring Zaha since he dazzled in Palace's shock League Cup win at Old Trafford in 2011.

"Of course, as always, we will be on the lookout for young players of potential who we can develop," Ferguson said earlier this week.

"We have always done that and it's the main reason why we never have to buy out of desperation. We always work for the future as well as trying our best to produce winning teams for the present."
