Man Utd boss Ferguson sees €40M Pastore as Scholes successor

Manchester United are lining up a bid for Palermo star Javier Pastore. United had scouts check on Pastore a fortnight ago in action against Napoli.

Corriere dello Sport says United are ready to make a €40m bid for the Argentine as Paul Scholes delays signing a new contract.

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini might be prepared to cash in on El Flaco if the offer is commensurate with his valuation.

Zamparini has repeatedly said that he considers Pastore to be worth as much as €70m, which, if true, means Manchester United will have to up their prospective offer.
