Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson feels Paul Scholes has the same qualities as Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz.

Fergie says he has the skills to be "a thinking man's coach" like his former No 2 Queiroz.

"I see a bright future for him as a coach and there'll always be a place for him with Manchester United," said the United manager.

"He's doing his badges and one day I think he'll be excellent.

"Quiet ones like Scholesy have got a big advantage over more demonstrative personalities because they tend to take a step back and so see everything.

"He won't be the bouncy, demanding kind of coach like Archie Knox or Steve McClaren. He'll be more of a thinking man's coach like Carlos Queiroz, maybe doing things with individual players."
