Man Utd boss Ferguson says hip op won't affect season planning

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson insists an expected hip operation won't affect next season's plans.

Ferguson assured supporters he has every intention of being in the dugout at the start of a campaign to claim what would be his 14th Premier League crown.

"There is no definite date for the operation yet," he said. "But I'm confident that everything will be sorted out before the season starts. I don't envisage any problems."
