Man Utd boss Ferguson: Rooney now 100%

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was delighted with Wayne Rooney's goal scoring comeback in last night's 3-0 victory over Fulham.

"Wayne is 100 per cent now, there is no question about that," said the Red Devils chief.

"He is back and hopefully he stays back. We are at the stage of the season when we don't take chances with any of the players. If you do and exacerbate a problem they can be out for weeks. We don't want that."

Mark Schwarzer's fumble gave him a helping hand as Paul Scholes opened the scoring with a trademark volley after Michael Carrick had picked him out on the edge of the area with a corner.

"Paul tries that in training every day. He usually tries to hit me," laughed Ferguson.

"He was fantastic tonight. Some of his switches of play were magnificent.

"These lads are great examples to young players in how they live their life.

"They have kept their ambition, which is important. We are delighted with their performance and are so proud to have them here."

Dimitar Berbatov tapped home his 12th goal of the season to effectively wrap up the win as Edwin van der Sar was already well on the way to a 14th clean sheet that will turn into a European league record if he adds another against Blackburn at Old Trafford on Saturday.
