Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says Wayne Rooney is growing into a leader.

Ferguson is delighted with Rooney's on-field discipline this season.

"People mature, I never worried about that with Wayne," said Ferguson.

"Along with their ability comes the maturity, the thought patterns and the timing - it all comes into their game. "They are more in control of themselves in terms of what they are capable of doing."
