Man Utd boss Ferguson refuses to give up on Tevez

After agreeing to sell Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to do all he can to hold onto Carlos Tevez.

The Sun says Tevez and his agent Kia Joorabchian want to leave the club and Liverpool is their preferred destination.

But the cash-strapped Kop cannot find the £26m needed.

Manchester City have also approached Joorabchian and have the cash to make the deal go through.

Tevez is settled in his Cheshire home and would welcome a move to Eastlands - plus the chance to show United they were wrong to leave him waiting all season.

But Fergie will pull out all the stops to keep the Argie now he has the funds to make Tevez's loan deal permanent.

Fergie knows the board face the fans' wrath if they allow Tevez to follow Ronaldo out of Old Trafford.
