Man Utd boss Ferguson recruits priest to help scandal-hit stars

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has brought in a priest to get his players back on the straight and narrow.

The Daily Star says Ferguson and United chiefs asked club chaplain Rev John Boyers to lecture rising stars like Ryan Giggs on sexual morality in a bid to stop future scandals, it has emerged.

Rev Boyers said: "I do some work with the academy teaching them life skills - situations in life they may encounter and how they might cope.

"Things like friendship, sexual ethics, bereavement, bullying and prejudice, racism. I try to help them prepare for adult life.

"We've had many situations in football ranging from drugs scandals to financial scandals and behavioural scandals which show there is real worth in having a chaplaincy," he added.
