Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson knows Real Madrid won't give up on their bid for Cristiano Ronaldo. "Real Madrid's interest in Cristiano will continue," Ferguson told the Daily Express.

"They didn't sign anyone in the summer. The coach Bernd Schuster went on holiday when they would not sign David Villa. He will be champing at the bit to get a big player in the summer so it's all going to happen again.

"Don't worry, it will all happen again in January.

"He has four years left on his contract. We are in the right position to dismiss Real Madrid."
