Man Utd boss Ferguson ready to deal in veteran trio

After securing Paul Scholes to a new two-year deal, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson plans to offer terms to three more of his veterans.

The Manchester Evening News says Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville and Edwin Van der Sar will all be out of contract next summer.

But, despite a feelgood factor within Old Trafford surrounding the new young breed emerging, Fergie still sets enormous store by his veterans.

Neville last signed a deal with the club in 2004. That four-year contract expires next June but Neville is set for an extension similar to Scholes' recent agreement to remain on the playing staff until 2010.

Twelve months ago Ryan Giggs put pen to paper on a year's extension to 2009 and another similar deal is expected soon.

With Van der Sar, United's top brass agreed a 12-month deal last December with the Dutchman and are poised to ask him to stay on again.
