Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to make Wigan Athletic winger Luis Antonio Valencia his first signing since allowing Cristiano Ronaldo to join Real Madrid.
The Sun says Fergie has agreed a £17m fee for 23-year-old Ecuador winger Valencia, who is expected to sign a five-year deal worth £70,000 a week.
The United manager has been a fan since Valencia joined Wigan in 2006.
