Man Utd boss Ferguson not worried about Moscow pitch

Sir Alex Ferguson and the players are not overly concerned about the state of the Luzhniki Stadium pitch ahead of Wednesday's Champions League final.

The stadium, which normally has an artificial surface, had a new grass surface put in. There were problems with it and a new surface had to be imported from Slovakia 15 days ago.

Concerns have been raised, but Sir Alex and Rio Ferdinand, who trained on the pitch on Tuesday evening, told the clubs official website it shouldn't be a problem.

"I've got no concerns," said Sir Alex. "UEFA have done their best. I'm delighted they re-laid it. You have to remind yourself that Old Trafford in December and January isn't the best. I think it will be fine." Rio Ferdinand, who played on the artificial surface with England last year, added: "We've just got to deal what it put in front of you."
