Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says retirement is not in his thoughts as he prepares for this season's Double defence.

Speaking in United's official yearbook, Ferguson said: "I have not finished yet. I still have some damage to do before I retire.

"Providing my health stands up to it - and there is no sign of my fitness deserting me - then I will stay on.

"Our players have a good future ahead of them and though I will be gone before some of them have reached their peak, I want to be part of it. It's too exciting to leave it all behind."
