Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson admitted he was not at all surprised that veteran Paul Scholes turned down a chance to return to the international scene.
Earlier this week it was revealed that England boss Fabio Capello offered Scholes the opportunity to represent the nation at the World Cup next month but the midfielder rejected the proposition which did not surprise Ferguson.
"No, I mean Paul made his decision years ago," Ferguson told Sky Sports News.
"I think Fabio did the right thing he gave him the opportunity to come back, but he's established with his family, he enjoys his family life.
"I don't think it was a goer."
