Man Utd boss Ferguson: Mouthy Liverpool should've appealed Suarez ban

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has taken fresh aim at Liverpool over the Luis Suarez race controversy. United have grown irritated this week at noises coming out of Anfield defending the Uruguayan, who was found guilty of racially abusing Patrice Evra.

And boss Ferguson said: "Why didn't they appeal?"

The situation has stoked up an already volatile fixture as the bitter rivals meet at Old Trafford this lunchtime.

Fergie said: "They have said plenty haven't they?

"We have just got on with our job and kept our dignity throughout and we will just concentrate on the game.

"We have kept our counsel, which is the right thing to do in these situations, and we'll keep it that way."
