Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is happy to allow Manchester City a clear run at Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder. The Daily Star says Ferguson has cooled his interest in the Dutchman after previous attempts to sign him.
He tried to land Sneijder in the summer of 2011 but was put off by Inter's asking price and the player's wage demands.
Now the door is open for City manager Roberto Mancini to make a move for the 28-year-old.
He is a big admirer of Sneijder and views him as the ideal replacement for Nigel De Jong, who quit the Etihad in the summer.
