Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted his great admiration for USA captain Landon Donovan.

Ferguson was hugely impressed by the LA Galaxy star's loan spell at Everton last season.

"(He was) absolutely outstanding," Ferguson said. "I think they wanted him to stay but the agreement was he had to go back."
