Man Utd boss Ferguson to keep Vidic as Ferdinand continues to struggle

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson won't consider selling Nemanja Vidic with Rio Ferdinand in traction.

Ferdinand will not return to Premier League action until November, according to reports.

The England skipper, who suffered knee ligament damage in a training ground challenge with Emile Heskey before the World Cup finals, is taking a long road to recovery.

The news means talk of a move away from Old Trafford for Nemanja Vidic is now highly unlikely. The giant Serb was a cheeky target for Manchester City.

It also means Fabio Capello is likely to stick with Steven Gerrard as his skipper for the next four internationals at least.
