Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed plans to appoint Bryan Robson as a club ambassador.

Ferguson said: "I cannot say anything official at the moment as it has not been finalised but there are plans to involve Bryan as an ambassador.

"I would be delighted with that and be very proud of him as he has been a fantastic captain for me and a fantastic player.

"I think he is the right type of person to be involved in Manchester United."
