Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admits he brought back Nemanja Vidic too soon.

The United boss admits he probably brought the Serb back too soon after his cruciate injury last December.

Fergie said: "I don't think Nemanja was ever 100 per cent.

"The main operation was to correct the cruciate.

"But when you do cruciates there is always the danger that the cartilage or meniscus is damaged also. And that was the case."
