Man Utd boss Ferguson holds crunch talks with medical staff over injury crisis

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was in talks with his medical team yesterday after returning from his trip to New York.

The Daily Star says Fergie returned from a holiday in America yesterday and was straight on to his medical team for information.

And his main concern is the fitness of £24m new signing Robin van Persie who damaged his thigh during Holland's midweek World Cup qualifier against Hungary and was replaced at half-time.

Van Persie has plundered four goals already this season and the United manager will be keen for him to line up against the Wigan Athletic.
