Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson had a pop at Michael Ballack after the Chelsea midfielder was on the wrong of a tackle from Patrice Evra.

After defeat in the Community Shield, Ferguson reflected on why Evra was booked for a revenge challenge on Ballack, when he took the ball but cleared out the German with his follow through.

"It was a fantastic tackle, actually," said Ferguson. "And Ballack didn't complain, which is unusual."
