Man Utd boss Ferguson furious with his wingers

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was angry with his wide players for defeat at Norwich City.

During the first-half, Ashley Young - being the nearest at the time - took an earful from the manager, concerned with the way the game was developing and desperate to jolt someone into life.

"We were too long delaying our crosses," said Ferguson. "We should have got the ball in earlier. Ashley Young improved that but we just didn't get into the space behind them. It just didn't happen for us.

"Norwich got plenty of men behind the ball and closed out all the spaces and we just couldn't get our crosses in.

"There are times when you have to recognise the opposition have played beyond themselves. It was a really special effort."
