Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is struggling to convince Paul Scholes to sign a new one-year contract extension.
The 36-year-old midfielder is yet to be persuaded by the United boss that he will play enough games next season to keep him happy.
United have even offered Scholes a role on the Old Trafford coaching staff when he retires but he is yet to agree to a new deal, says the Sunday Mirror.
But Scholes is still to make up his mind.
