Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson doesn't want to part with goalkeeper Ben Foster.
The Times says Ferguson has moved to reassure Ben Foster that he has a future at Old Trafford amid fears that his days at the club were numbered.
Foster was tipped for big things at the start of the season, but a series of high-profile blunders have led him to slip behind Tomasz Kuszczak to third in the goalkeeping pecking order at United and his chances of being included in the England squad for the World Cup finals appear remote.
"Ben has been unfortunate," Ferguson said. "He made some mistakes earlier in the season. Tomasz Kuszczak got in and his form was great. So what do I do? Pick Ben because he's English? Or go with form? I have to go with form.
"That's the only reason. Ben will come back. He has fantastic talent and I am sure he will be tremendous next year. The boy has just signed a new contract and has never said anything to me [about his future], so as far as I am concerned, he will be here."
