Man Utd boss Ferguson: Ferdinand will be ready for Arsenal

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson does not expect to play Rio Ferdinand against Tottenham.

Ferdinand's hamstring injury is not as serious as first thought and he could be back for Arsenal on Sunday week.

Vidic has a calf problem and Sir Alex Ferguson says he could be out until the end of September.

"Rio is not as bad and could be ready for our game against Arsenal," said Ferguson.

"He won't be ready for Monday against Tottenham, but it's amazing how perceptions can change in a few days."
