Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson will have to explain his negative comments towards a match official on Sunday.
The Scottish tactician criticised linesman Simon Beck after he did not award Wayne Rooney a penalty when he was seemingly brought down by Steven Caulker in the 1-1 draw with Tottenham at White Hart Lane.
Ferguson suggested Beck's performance yesterday was very poor after missing the penalty and calling United offside on a number of occasions and has been asked by the Football Association to explain his criticism.
Ferguson has been given until 6pm on Thursday to explain himself.
