Man Utd boss Ferguson expects Welbeck to stick with England

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson expects Danny Welbeck to stick with England, despite him still being eligible for Ghana.

Ferguson insists it is not a conversation he has had with the youngster, whom he spoke to on Monday when news of Welbeck's call-up became public knowledge.

However, the last time he spoke to Welbeck about the matter, Ferguson advised the player to go for England.

"I would only get involved if he asked me,' said Ferguson. 'He spoke to me some time ago about the Ghana thing. At the time I advised him to play for England. Whether that has changed or not I don't know.

"There is an obvious attraction to play for England I would have thought. He lives in this country. He was born here. I don't see it being a huge problem as far as England is concerned. I think he will probably choose England."
