Man Utd boss Ferguson excited with new signings

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was happy to talk more about his summer signings after yesterday's Community Shield victory over Chelsea.

Nani saw action as a late substitute and Ferguson remarked: "We've identified the potential in Nani and Anderson and they can eventually develop into top players. Tevez has the experience of playing in England for a year and he has shown that he can become one of the best strikers in the world.

"Tevez can play well with Wayne Rooney. I don't think they are identical, other than that they are of similar physique, they are two footed, quickish and they can beat their man. He will play a friendly on Wednesday and then, hopefully, he can play against Reading.

"Hargreaves has European experience and will shore up the midfield against counter-attacks.

"The teams are not at 100 per cent but it's a stepping stone to next week. Everybody knows we are the two best sides in the country but Arsenal and Liverpool will play a bigger hand this season."
