Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is convinced their shock at Everton was a "blip".

Ferguson was pleased with the midweek win over West Ham United.

Fergie said: "Our form over the past few weeks has been very good. I think at Everton there was tiredness.

"I've watched the video and I'm convinced of that now. Our midfield left a bit in Milan (United won 3-2 in the San Siro three days ­earlier).

"But I was delighted with the energy we showed on Tuesday. You get blips sometimes and I think Everton was a blip."
