Man Utd boss Ferguson delivers Fletcher Champions League heart-break hat-trick

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is set to leave Darren Fletcher out of his Champions League final line-up.

Fletcher has only just returned to action following seven weeks out with a serious virus, says the Daily Star.

The Scotland international is desperate to face Barca and Fergie is equally desperate for him to play.

But the United boss is worried Fletcher's lack of game time will leave him off the pace against Pep Guardiola's men and is therefore set to name him among the substitutes.

The decision will compete a hat-trick of Champions League disappointments for Fletcher.

He was an unused substitute for United's 2008 triumph against Chelsea in Moscow.

The following year he was suspended for the 2009 defeat in Rome to Barcelona.
