Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is delighted with the form of Rio Ferdinand.
Ferdinand, 34, had a fantastic game against Tottenham.
And Ferguson said: "Rio has had a great season. Obviously he doesn't play every game.
"He didn't play last Wednesday against West Ham.
"He was nice and fresh to play against Tottenham and, as we expected, he did really well.
"Players look after themselves and defenders, if they look after themselves, should have longer than Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, or as much as."
