Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson believes the power Rafa Benitez has gained at Liverpool has gone to his head! As part of his amazing rant at his rival yesterday, the United boss said: "He has played himself into a powerful position. He wants control of all the transfers - for whatever reasons I don't know but that's the last thing I'd want. Crikey!"
Ferguson suggested Benitez, 49, calms down and gets a hobby outside of football. He said: "I don't know what he does in his spare time but he's certainly not using it in the right way."
In another statement, which will surely rile Benitez, Ferguson now says Chelsea will be United's main threat in the title race after they knocked Liverpool out the Champions League on Tuesday.
He said: "Who was in the better frame of mind in the morning? Chelsea obviously. Chelsea are buoyed up."
