Manchester United midfielder Anderson is likely to be out of Sunday's Carling Cup final after featuring in their win over West Ham United.

Anderson was forced off in the first half at Old Trafford on Tuesday after injuring his knee in a challenge. He played on briefly but then signalled he could not longer continue.

Sir Alex Ferguson said after the game: "We've sent him for a scan. Hopefully it's not serious but it's not looking great."
