Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is convinced of landing Aston Villa winger Ashley Young in the summer.
It's been suggested United failed with a bid for the England international in January after Ferguson revealed a scuppered move for a major signing in his match programme notes on the weekend.
Liverpool are also keen on Young, where both manager Kenny Dalglish and football chief Damien Comolli rate the former Watford man highly.
However, the News of the World says United are confident they'll beat Liverpool in the £15million chase for Young when the market reopens in June.
