Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says Javier Hernandez is no supersub.

Ferguson dismissed the perception of Hernandez, 24, as a 'supersub' who is most effective coming off the bench as an impact player in games.

"He can do both," said Ferguson. "He starts games and, at Stoke last Sunday, he always kept them on the back foot.

"Quite a few games, like at Wigan, we played two up and his contribution is always high on my thoughts."
