Man Utd boss Ferguson: Chelsea striker Torres miss as bad as Forlan

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was shocked by Fernando Torres' miss for Chelsea yesterday. The breathtaking spectacle also contained some slapstick moments with Rooney's dreadful penalty miss and Torres' open goal howler in front of the Stretford End.

"I thought Fernando Torres was bound to score," said the Reds manager. "It was a bad miss. It reminded me of the Diego Forlan miss against Juventus one pre-season. He had so much time but that's football.

"Wayne hit the post and missed a penalty kick. I don't know what he was trying to do with that. He must have slipped. It was unusual. Normally he was very composed and takes his penalty kicks very well.

"I wasn't worried about him getting a hat trick. I was more worried about us winning the game. So we are all happy."
