Man Utd boss Ferguson challenges Rooney to beat Ronaldo’s 42 goals record
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson reckons Wayne Rooney is on track to beat Cristiano Ronaldo's amazing goal scoring record of two years ago.
Ronaldo hit 42 in the season Manchester United won both the Premier League and Champions League two years ago.
Rooney now has 27 this term - with 11 in his last eight games - and, with plenty of matches to come, boss Ferguson believes anything is possible of his superstar striker.
Ferguson said: "Well, we've 10 league games and hopefully we'll get six European ties. That's 16 games.
"A goal a game would bring him to 43. So there's pressure for you.
"Who wouldn't thrive on that? Crikey me! He's on a great goalscoring burst now. He's popping up in the right places at the right time.
"His judgement in the penalty box is improving and that's a nice sign."

Rooney can beat ronaldo margin,it depend on his commitment.haters of rooney go and die.
Usual crap from the spanish. yawn. ronaldo is finding it easy in the soft slow spanish league - and we built him into the layer he is in england you simpleton. So rooney is no good because he is not good looking - what the f**k is that about. look at messi - and ugly little gimp himself - so must be no good then.
i cant understand how people are saying that the spanish league is weak compared to the premier league, the vast majority of the best players in the world right now are either in spain, or came from spain," fabregas, torres, kaka, messi, ronaldo" the 2 strongest teams in your league were beaten by barcelona en route to the champions league trophy. and as for saying that in spain it is only ever a 2 horse race, it is becoming that way in epl, over the last 5 years, which is a pretty long time when you think about it, only 2 teams have won the league, so that a mute point, and as of right now the players that people consider truly world class "not rooney, skillwise hes good, but ***** me is an ugly *****" are in spain! also they are at least easy on the eye ffs its not a major factor but if your looking at em for 90 mins it helps!
