Man Utd boss Ferguson: Ancelotti won't care about Mourinho record at Chelsea

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson doesn't believe Carlo Ancelotti will ever be intimidated by the record of former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.

Ferguson insists his new rival at Chelsea will not be overawed by the legacy of The Special One, who won two titles, the FA Cup and League Cup in his three years at the club.

He said: "I don't think Carlo will be worried about Jose Mourinho.

"Look at his CV - it's pretty impressive. He's won two European Cups and the Scudetto. He was also a top player who won the European Cup three times.

"I don't see what Mourinho did there being a problem to him. His credentials as a coach are unquestionable.

"He's got them playing a different way to Jose - his way.

"Carlo was at Milan a long time. Eight years is unheard of in Italy. Maybe he came to the point where he needed a new challenge - and that meant the Premier League. Where else could he have gone? Real Madrid in Spain, maybe? Barcelona?

"I think England, and the level of competition we have over here, was right for him."
