Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson admits he turned down the chance to sign new Liverpool hero Joe Cole.

Now England star Cole can make him regret that decision tomorrow when the ex-Chelsea forward visits Old Trafford with new club Liverpool.

Fergie said: "We were approached by his agent at one point but we didn't enter into discussions.

"It was maybe just too complicated to get involved."
