Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admits he's taking a risk relying so heavily on Wayne Rooney.
United lean hugely on their 16-goal England star.
Michael Owen has hit seven goals as a bit-part player but Dimitar Berbatov has only six in 23 outings.
Ferguson says he cannot find value for money, so is left crossing his fingers Rooney can carry the weight of expectation.
Asked if he feared the situation could turn round and haunt him, Ferguson replied: "Yes, that is a possibility.
"We don't have great options if Rooney is injured, in the sense we don't have top quality like Ronaldo, who could play anywhere. But, still, we're not too bad."
