Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson insists the club has no problem with Herbert Fandel taking charge of tonight's Champions League semi against Barcelona.

German ref Fandel has a difficult relationship with United, but Ferguson said: "The referee's performance is always important.

"They have a big part to play in football matches, particularly major matches.

"This referee has experience of big games, so it is a big responsibility."
