Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson steamed into his players in the aftermath of their 6-1 humiliation by Manchester City. The Daily Mail says Ferguson switched his famous 'hairdryer' back on as he accused his senior players of failing to use their experience to stop the slide against Premier League leaders Manchester City.

The United manager called his stars 'f****** idiots' in a rant that was followed by an instruction that senior players should report for training to pick over what went wrong.

Ferguson was furious that stand-in skipper Patrice Evra and former England captain Rio Ferdinand didn't do enough to organise the side after they went down to 10 men with the score 1-0 to City.
